Looking at how app developers respond to the launch of the Apple iPad, I’m pretty sure that Steve Jobs has another hit in his hands in the case of app offerings. Like many iPhone developers, popular kids TV channel and online destination Nickelodeon will be well represented for the iPad launch with 2 new apps based on its most popular brands and games – Dora the Explorer Coloring Adventures and Shockwave.com’s Daily Jigsaw.

“Dora the Explorer Coloring Adventures” ($4.99)

Kids can go on creative adventures with a combination sticker and coloring book app designed specifically for iPad. Little explorers can choose a picture, add stickers, and then touch the screen to apply lots of colors. There are dozens of Dora-themed stickers and several backgrounds to choose from.

“Daily Jigsaw” ($0.99)

Shockwave brings one of its most popular titles to the iPad. Players will be able to download a new high-resolution puzzle every day that features photos and fun facts submitted from Shockwave’s jigsaw community.

Nickelodeon will be launching iPad apps based on popular titles and properties in the coming months including AddictingGames’ The World’s Hardest Game. The new iPad apps join Nickelodeon’s iPhoneâ„¢ and iPod® touch apps, which have generated almost 5 million downloads over the past year.
