Diablo IV’s expansion Vessel of Hatred is poised to be released this week on the 8th of October. I’ve already purchased the normal edition on Battle.Net, but I’m curious to see whether do I need to purchase that expansion again for the copies of Diablo IV that I’ve on Steam and the Xbox Series S (via Game Pass). But what else is on my current platter of games?

Plants vs. Zombies (Xbox Series S)

This was originally released by PopCap on the Xbox 360, and thanks to the Xbox Series S’ backwards compatibility, I’m able to play it with zero fuss. The backwards compatibility on the Series S is the main reason why it has more play time when compared against my Sony PlayStation 5.

The former has been home to old favorites such as SSX 3 and Mercenaries: Playground for Destruction.

Gundam Breaker 4 (Steam Deck)

This recent release is like a dream for Gunpla fans, where you get to customize and build your very own mech from parts from Gundam and mecha featured in different Gundam franchises. You get to battle and collect more parts to further your customization journey. What’s even crazier is that there’s a diorama mode!

Fallout 4 (PC)

Returning these couple of weeks to The Commonwealth to score some low-hanging trophies, including “Just Add Saltwater” and “Wasteland D.I.Y“. I was surprised that I didn’t get the latter earlier in the game, but I guess I wasn’t into much crafting, including food items and chems. I suppose other achievements, including “Time Out” and “Docile” are on the card as well.

Enough about the games that I’ve been playing, how about some exciting upcoming indie titles to keep on your radar:

Kernel Hearts (Whitethorn Games / EPHEMERA)

Whitethorn Games and Argentine developer EPHEMERA have unveiled Kernel Hearts, an action-packed multiplayer roguelike with stunning anime aesthetics. Players will battle their way up the Tower of Babel as part of an elite android magical girl unit, aiming to dethrone a god and save the world.

With roguelike progression, skill customization, and co-op for up to 4 players, Kernel Hearts looks to deliver intense hack-and-slash action when it releases on PC via Steam in the coming months. You can wishlist the game over here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2902170/Kernel_Hearts/

Aaero 2 (Mad Fellows)

UK-based micro-studio Mad Fellows is bringing the sequel to their critically-acclaimed rhythm game Aaero to Xbox Series X|S on October 15th. Aaero 2 has players piloting a spacecraft through alien worlds, tracing ribbons of light to the beat of an epic licensed Monstercat soundtrack.

New features include 2-player co-op and PvP modes, both local and online. PC players can look forward to trying the demo during October’s Steam Next Fest. You can wishlist it over here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3010090/Aaero2/

Diplomacy is Not an Option (Door 407)

After over two years in early access, Door 407’s medieval horde survival RTS Diplomacy is Not an Option launches into 1.0 today on PC. The full release brings a complete story campaign with multiple factions, branching choices, and over 100 hours of content.

Players must build defenses and raise armies to fend off up to 25,000 attacking enemies at once. With positive Steam reviews during early access, the 1.0 version looks to deliver an even more robust strategy experience.
