Diablo IV’s upcoming expansion, Vessel of Hatred has begun pre-loading today and I found out that for pre-release content, the Battle.net limits the download speed for the pre-release content by default. So don’t forget to disable the limiter if you feel that your download speed is being pathetically slow. Since it will take a while for the game to update, and not that I get to play it anytime earlier than the 8th of October, how about a round up on video game announcements from this year’s Tokyo Games Show?
This venerable video game trade fair and convention was first inaugurated in 1996, and I remember reading about it in publications such as PC Gamer. This year, there have been a slew of exciting announcements so be sure to check them out (and the trailers) below:

This Metroidvania-style game unveiled a new trailer featuring voice acting by David Hayter. SteamDolls promises a unique blend of stealth and brutal combat in a comic book-inspired world.
Players can choose to lurk in the shadows or engage in visceral combat, with a variety of abilities and devastating finishers at their disposal. The game also features a hacking mechanic that allows players to experience memories of the game world, adding depth to its narrative. Players assemble intricate 3D dioramas, solving puzzles and uncovering charming narratives as they progress. The game’s serene atmosphere and intuitive mechanics make it an ideal choice for those seeking a relaxing gaming experience.
TANUKI: Pon’s Summer (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC)
This colorful BMX adventure set in a Japanese village stars Pon, a tanuki mailman. Players deliver packages, perform BMX tricks, and engage in various summer activities like bug catching, karaoke, and fishing.
The game features an emoji-based dialogue system for interacting with quirky townsfolk, and players can unlock decorations to restore the Great Tanuki Shrine. With its unique premise and charming aesthetic, TANUKI: Pon’s Summer promises a delightful slice-of-life experience. Saborus (PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch)
This unique yet macabre horror game puts players in control of a chicken trying to escape a nightmarish slaughterhouse. Developed by a single person, Saborus challenges players to solve puzzles and use limited objects to evade slaughterhouse workers and genetically modified horrors.
With its innovative concept and oppressive atmosphere, Saborus promises a fresh take on the horror genre across multiple platforms. A demo is already available on Steam, check it out over here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2768030/Saborus/
Overwatch 2 x My Hero Academia Collaboration (PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch)
From October 17-30, Overwatch 2 will feature exclusive legendary skins bringing My Hero Academia characters into the game. Players can embody their favorite anime heroes or villains, with skins including Tracer as Deku, Juno as Uravity, Reinhardt as All Might, Kiriko as Himiko Toga, and Reaper as Tomura Shigaraki. This crossover event offers fans a unique blend of two popular franchises.
StarCraft and StarCraft II on PC Game Pass (PC)
Last but not least are another pair of Blizzard titles. Both StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft II will join PC Game Pass on November 5th. This addition brings the iconic RTS series to Microsoft’s subscription service, allowing a new generation of players to experience these genre-defining games. StarCraft’s inclusion in Game Pass covers both the original game’s remastered version and the full StarCraft II campaign collection.
