The Steam Summer Sale is on right now, and along with the 4th of July sales on Woot, I managed to snag some games and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription codes. I didn’t get RoboCop: Rogue City when it first came out, so I bought that along with the soon-to-be-removed Forza Horizon 4 for a grand total of RM 88.50 (~ USD 19). The Game Pass Ultimate codes were going for 23% off on Woot at USD 34.49 for 3-months; and these codes are stackable!

While I like what Game Pass Ultimate has to offer as a subscription service, I’m in the market to buy several more games before the Summer Sale runs its course (that and I like Steam for the achievements)

  • Assetto Corsa (RM 4.90)
  • Frostpunk (RM 7.20)
  • Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 (RM 10.80)
  • RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition (RM 15.60)
  • Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition (RM 28.50)
  • Pharaoh – A New Era (RM 36.46)
  • Chants of Sennaar (RM 38.50)
  • Rogue Trader (RM 77.35)
  • Hogwarts Legacy (RM 99.60)

I’m waiting for further discounts for the likes of Baldur’s Gate 3 and Homeworld 3 before even considering purchasing them.

The next gaming-related purchase that I got this month was a physical one, in the form of batteries. I’ve been using Panasonic Eneloops for the past couple of years and have been slowly phasing out non-rechargeables such as the ones used in my wall clocks. The new set of batteries are for my Xbox Wireless Controllers. I use the Starfield Limited Edition controller for my PC, along with a white one for my Xbox Series S.

Here’s a little bit of trivia: Based on a recent update from Valve, daily average controller use has tripled from ~5% to up to 15% of all sessions since 2018 and that 59% of that sessions were played using Xbox controllers!
