Focus Entertainment and indie studio Rundisc’ latest game, Chants of Sennaar is a mesmerizing puzzle adventure game where you must decipher glyphs to unravel the mysteries of a world of forgotten languages. The trailer alone reminds me of the 2021 hit indie title, Sable.
In Chants of Sennaar, the Peoples of the Tower no longer speak to each other, divided since the dawn of time. But it is said that one day, a Traveler will find the wisdom to break down the walls and restore the Balance. Explore and discover a fascinating world where men have forgotten their past.
Chants of Sennaar paints a colorful and poetic setting inspired by the myth of Babel, drawing visually from European comic artists (yes, I do see smacks of Moebius, which Sable had a claim on as well) and a miscellany of architectural styles.
Players travel the endless steps of a prodigious labyrinth, uncover an ominous truth and unveil the mysteries of this captivating universe where ancient languages are both the lock and the key. The title is out now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a free demo also available on all platforms!
Alongside the release of Chants of Sennaar, Focus and Rundisc have also announced today an exclusive vinyl edition of the game’s tremendous instrumental original soundtrack, composed by Thomas Brunet, available to pre-order now on the Focus Store.
