I’ve just upgraded Project 2023’s RAM to a pair of Kingston Fury DDR5 5600 bringing the total RAM for that system to be 64 GB. Yup, that’s a pretty hefty upgrade considering that it was running a pair of XPG DDR 5200 at 32 GB. The new upgrade brought about even more RGB to the system unit; Project 2023 is on the other end of the RGB scale compared to my other build Project 2021, which is a no-RGB build.
Speaking about RAM, Lexar, the company that I would normally would associate with flash drives, are taking a greater dip into the very competitive RAM market, with the launch of the Lexar ARES RGB DDR5 Desktop Memory designed for gamers and enthusiasts. This memory delivers performance with speeds starting at 5600MHz and up to 6000MHz, and with quick CL32 and CL34 timings.
The Lexar ARES RGB DDR5 desktop memory features a premium aluminum heat spreader that keeps the gaming system cool for ultra-fast performance. This gaming desktop memory features on-board Power Management IC (PMIC) to provide better power control and power delivery. This memory also features an RGB light bar for aesthetics that supports popular motherboard RGB sync technologies and supports Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO memory overclocking technologies
While there’s no word on the actual pricing, Lexar ARES RGB DDR5 Desktop Memory will be available in 32GB (2x16GB) kits, in DDR5-5600MHz CL32 and DDR5-6000MHz CL34 kits. Lexar will be shipping to partner resellers in the APAC region this Q2 2023. Here’s hoping that with more DDR45 RAM players in the market, prices will soon reach DDR4 levels.
