Phew.. A whole bunch of interesting work-related projects, and a highly-coveted promotion = a very busy not much time for mobile games. So how did I actually maintain some form of equilibrium in this work-life mix? Answer, to take the edge off the amount of output I put into work, I had a mix of running, cycling, video games and general offspring-raising thrown in for good measure.

“What games?!” you may ask since I’ve not touch a mobile game (*shudders*) since July. Well, I’ve been playing a fair bit of StarCraft II in my free time, and Civilisation V whenever I’m looking after my daughter; turn-based gameplay lends itself well when you have kid(s) to look after.

In any case, the mobile app that has been getting my attention is actually Strava. Yup, there’s something quite fun about (trying to) notching up KOMs around the neighbourhood. I’m in second place for a couple of run-related ones, and in the top 40 for a couple of cycling ones as well. I’ve got a Garmin Fenix 2 which feeds to Garmin Connect which then feeds to Strava for all the fancy, competition stuff.

I’m in the midst of preparing for the Standard Chartered KL Marathon in October, which explains the amount of training going in, except this year I’m putting in some effort to cross-training in order to not hurt myself in the build up to the race. Wish me luck. The time to beat is 4 hours 56 minutes.

In the meantime, do send those review requests and press releases in :).
