The Indonesian makers of the pretty but cut-scene heavy iOS game, INHeritage: Boundary of Existence (read the review here), Tinker Games, have come up with a brand new game, Pixel Marathon, which is available on the App Store for iOS devices as a freemium title. The game is a challenging endless runner with 2D pixelated art whereby players play as Tom, an inmate trying to escape from prison, before realizing that he is trapped in an endless marathon to break free.
The sorry sod has to run and avoid mines, collect coins, pick up weapons, race against opponents and kill those who stand in his way. Tom has more than 8 varieties of costumes that can give him special powers; Players can freely change his costume according to players’ taste. The aim of this game is to run as far as possible and net various achievements.
According to one reviewer who got his hands on the pre-release version of the game: “One thing that was interesting when I first played this game was the high sense of humor created by the developer. Honestly, if I didn’t know the developer I would thought this game was made overseas, not local.” Tinker Games did insert parodies of prominent characters as opponents that must be defeated.
“This game can be downloaded for free, with some in-app purchase that will not affect the course of the game. Players will still be able to finish the game without purchasing any special features”, said Setiaki Murdi, Chief Marketing Officer of Tinker Games.
