The Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy orchestra was in town just recently, bringing about some iconic selections from the venerable 25-year old series. I didn’t manage to catch the orchestra, they were playing at the Kuala Lumpur Philharmonic, but then this might have to do with me not being a big FF fan in the first place.
Anyways, talking about music and Final Fantasy, Square Enix has announced that THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY has been released for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This is the first music game in a franchise that has sold more than 100 million games around the world.
In THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY, adorably redesigned heroes from the catalogue of FINAL FANTASY titles set out on an adventure to combat memorable villains with rhythmic taps. THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY features a huge range of musical scores spanning 25 years of the FINAL FANTASY franchise.
Brand new to the iOS version is the Quest Medley mode, where you’ll take on a range of challenges based on the songs in your collection. Each time you play, you’ll find yourself facing different songs, different levels of difficulties, and different rewards for completion. The iOS version also gives players the ability to craft their own musical creations in the Compose Scores mode, which can then be shared with the world via Twitter®.
THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY is free to download, and comes with two musical scores and 13 characters to get you started. You can then choose from over 100 of your favorite FINAL FANTASY songs for $.99 each, and characters for $1.99 each, enabling you to create your own personal FINAL FANTASY THEATRHYTHM experience.
