Arges Systems, an indie development micro studio with a passion to create inventive new gameplay experiences, today announced the launch of its “fiendishly difficult” debut puzzle action game Hairy Tales that is now available on digital download service Desura. Hairy Tales is also available for iPhone and iPad through the App Store, and OSX through the Mac Store.
Blending fast furious action with tile-dragging puzzle mechanics Hairy Tales stars the Hairys, an excited group of fairy folk who are so eager to clear their world of corruption that they simply don’t watch where they’re going. Featuring 72 deviously animated levels split across three distinctive worlds, players must simultaneously save the Hairys from falling off the edge of the world by by re-arranging the tiles on each level, whilst acquiring power ups, magic mushrooms and destroying evil enemy Kikimoras and their three powerful end bosses.
“Influenced by Slavic mythology and classic puzzle platform games such as Lemmings, Hairy Tales is a dynamic, free flowing tactical puzzler that is simple to learn, but difficult to master”, said Ricardo J. Méndez, Director of Arges Systems, “As difficulty ramps up through later levels players will need to discover new ingenious ways to get the Hairys to safety”.
Hairy Tales includes an easy to understand tutorial that lead players through the initial levels. Each stage offers multiple solutions allowing players to flex their brains and exercise their creativity. While initial levels can be configured before the Hairy starts running, later stages include multiple tile types, ranging from helpful teleporters to deadly spikes that require the player to quickly react by re-arranging items including cannons and traps during the Hairys run.
Hairy Tales will be available on the Mac Store and Desura for €5, and is available on the App Store for an introductory rate of €0.99.
