WallaBee Becomes First iOS Game to Support Passbook

UK-based developers WallaBee have announced today that their award winning game, WallaBee, has a new update (version 1.1.3) which brings about support for Passbook on iOS 6. Passbook enables players to store all of their passes, tickets, vouchers, and loyalty cards in one place, and with the new version of WallaBee players will be able to receive Branded Item prizes as Passbook passes.

“We’re really excited about Passbook support” said Simon Wicks, WallaBee’s Business Development Manager. “For our players, Passbook is a great way of issuing vouchers or discount cards that are attached to some of our Branded Items. For businesses, this opens up a whole new way to engage with our audience, particularly as there are so few Passbook-ready apps. We think people are really going to love this integration.”

Passbook has been seamlessly integrated into the WallaBee experience. When a player finds a Branded Item with a prize attached, a simple tap of the “View Coupon” button will securely download the pass and display it where it can then be saved to Passbook. These passes can then be remotely updated.

“We’re thrilled to be the first game on iOS to support Passbook” said Ben Dodson, WallaBee’s CEO. “We’ll be rolling out our first Passbook enabled items shortly but we wanted to give players something they could look at today. To that end, we’ve created a WallaBee Account Pass which lists some of your account details and scores. We think these passes are really beautiful and are going to be a big hit.”

WallaBee is the ultimate collectibles game for your iPhone. The aim of the game is to complete sets by collecting beautiful items at real world locations. Each item and set is uniquely numbered so you’ll need to be quick if you want to beat your friends to the lowest numbers. Players can also win prizes by collecting Branded Items. WallaBee was selected as the “Best European Gaming Startup of 2012” at the Nonick 012 Conference.
