Who says we can’t learn anything from history? Just take a look at the iTunes App Store, there are plenty of retro-inspired games out to make a name for themselves, and I must say some of them do warrant a look at. Toronto-based Puppy Glass Inc has just recently joined the “retro-inspired” bandwagon by releasing BloomDots 1.1.1 for iOS devices.
This game combines a classic retro arcade feel with the kind of sleek gameplay mechanics made possible by the iPhone’s unique and paradigm-shifting user interface. According to the developer, BloomDots is a beautiful game with rich colors, luminous graphics and top-notch audio.
The object of the game is to clear away all the dots in the least amount of time, with the fewest possible taps. If the player times it just right, it’s possible to clear all the dots off the screen with a single tap! Once the minimum score for any given screen is achieved, the next level is unlocked, and players can move on and try to complete all 120 levels (it’s crazy these days on how games over-achieve on levels).
