I think having Angry Birds around is probably the reason for the proliferation of casual games on the iTunes App Store that feature something in common: dozens of levels. From observation, developers have to come up with games that probably provide too much bang for the proverbial buck, or should I say the 99 cents.
I’m not too sure whether Six5 Mobile, the developers behind Save That Fish for the iPhone think the same, but generally I feel that the game that they came up with fits the formula. Like Angry Birds, it’s a physics based platform puzzle game. And like Angry Birds, there’s a mighty amount of levels in this game, which by my reckoning is over 40 levels.
Each level presents a different take on how to help Gil the fish escape from an aquarium filled with piranhas, bouncing into nearby fish bowl with the aid of several specially placed bouncing blocks. Different type of blocks help Gil bounce at different heights and the order in which they are arranged will help Gil overcome obstacles.
The gameplay is quite fun and for those who are not physics inclined can always go ahead with the forgiving trial and error approach the game has. Nine Over Ten 9/10 rates Save That Fish at a commendable 4 out of 5. The game is available on the iTunes App Store for USD 0.99, do check out the game over here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/save-that-fish/id436947264?mt=8.
