I’ve never really been a fan of modern TV game shows but SkyZone Entertainment and Freemantlemedia Enterprises have teamed up to release a new iPhone game titled Hole In The Wall, which is based of a zany Japanese game show called Human Tetris (I believe there’s a Malaysian knock-off for this, having seen it in an ad somewhere). Check out the press release below for further details:
SKYZONE® AND FREMANTLEMEDIA ENTERPRISES TEAM UP TO RELEASE HOLE IN THE WALL™ TO MOBILE DEVICES
Puzzle Game Pits Players Against Moving Wall Obstacles With Hilarious Consequences!
North Bergen, NJ – November 30, 2010 – It’s not meant to be fair; it’s meant to be funny and a hole-lot-of-fun! SkyZone Entertainment, Inc., a leading provider of premium mobile games, services and content, and FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) today released Hole In The Wall on the iOS, BREW, J2ME mobile platforms, with Android soon to follow.
Based on the popular and outrageous Japanese game show, the globally successful Hole In The Wall features two teams who compete by attempting to force themselves through bizarrely shaped holes in a giant moving wall. Failure to do so results in players being pushed into a pool of water below. The mobile gamewill cost between $1.99 and $6.99 on various mobile platforms.
“SkyZone has never shied away from releasing mobile content based on successful entertainment properties, whether it be Animal House, The Three Stooges and now Hole In The Wall,” said Key N. Sar, Chief Marketing Officer and Business Development, SkyZone Entertainment. “With this game, we were able to distill the most important aspects of the show – teamwork, competition, joy, fun and tears – into a portable format where players could experience the absurdity at their fingertips.”
“Hole In The Wall is one of the most exciting and innovative game show formats currently on television,” added Nicholas Dale, Manager of Interactive for program licensor FME. “We are excited to work with a talented partner like SkyZone to bring the unique gameplay of the show to its fans through mobile devices.”
Hole In The Wall gives players the chance to participate in this hilarious game. By manipulating the avatar’s body with intuitive onscreen controls, players can attempt to fit through increasingly difficult holes to win points. As they advance through all nine levels, points earned can be used to “buy” in-game items like boots, helmets, suit upgrades and more to customize their character. With both single and turn-based multiplayer modes, this mobile game provides hours of gripping and challenging content to keep even the most hardcore gamers entertained.
The iPhone iteration of the Hole In The Wall game will include special features such as multi-touch and iTunes support, wall posting of scores, high sound quality and visual effects that take advantage of the iPhone’s graphic capabilities. Hole In The Wall has aired in 40 territories worldwide and has been the number one show in its time period across key territories including Japan, Australia, the Netherlands and the UK.
The game is available on the App Store for USD 1.99: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hole-in-the-wall/id401984246?mt=8
