For some reason, you won’t be able to find a single patrol car on the NKVE expressway on weekend nights after 1 a.m., and instead you’ll find the entire stretch, starting from the petrol kiosk right after the Duta toll plaza, right up to the Klang toll plaza, turned into a Mat Rempit race course.
You’ll find these daredevil motorcycle deviants racing up and down the expressway, performing stunts like the wheelie or the Superman (where the rider lies flat on the motorcycle seat, instead of sitting upright, while riding the bike). The entire expressway is swarming with them, and there are more Mat Rempits then there are cars on the road!
Having observed these morons up close, it’s easy to see that they thrive on well behaved road users, weaving in and out of lanes populated by vehicles whose drivers stick to their own lanes. It’s possible though that some erratic driving can put these jokers off, and can cause them to crash mid stunt, but then again you would need to be pretty malicious to pull that off.
I wonder what the police and the government plan to do with this. Block the highway exits, consficate their bikes and force them to walk to the police station, just get them off the expressway.
