Blackest Night and Captain America: Reborn are two limited series from DC and Marvel Comics respectively and both happen to be two of my favourites at the moment. Both series had their third issues released recently around the same time.
While Blackest Night is technically a Green Lantern limited series, it features deceased heroes and villains from across the DC Universe coming back as undead Black Lanterns, bringing heartbreak (literally!) to their loved ones.
Among the highlights of Issue #3 would be the debut of the Indigo Tribe (resulting in undead Ralph and Sue Dibny being pwned), the death of one-half of Firestorm, and of course, the newly raised undead from the JLA’s vault (seen in the final shot).
But of course, with Sue Dibny out of the picture, the question on what happens when an undead Sue Dibny (a Black Lantern at that) meets an undead Dr. Light, (read Identity Crisis for a bit of their history) he being one of the villains raised from the vault, will remain unanswered.
Captain America: Reborn remains to be a rollercoaster ride for Steve Rogers. There’s still no inkling on how he is going get himself back to his own time, and with 2 issues left in this limited series, will it be a hack job? We’ll know soon enough.
