I’ve never had a problem withdrawing my Paypal funds to my credit card. It’s just recently that the service started acting a little weird. Now, I initiated a withdrawal of USD 90 to my credit card early this month and after 2 weeks, the transaction was still pending.
Curious, I e-mailed Paypal regarding the matter and I received the following reply:
I understand that you are still concerned about the abnormal status regarding your withdrawal payment.
That is our known system issue. We will reimburse you as early as possible. Your patience is highly appreciated.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused you.
Followed by this:
We recently experienced a processing issue that affected a withdrawal to your credit card. To correct this matter we have issued a credit to your PayPal account balance for the full amount of the withdrawal.
Please note that your initial withdrawal attempt did not successfully complete to your credit card. To withdraw these funds to your credit card, you must initiate another withdrawal.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Now, I’m pretty ok with re-imbursement, however, Paypal reimbursed only USD 85, minus the USD 5 credit card withdrawal fee. The transaction didn’t go through and it was their fault, so should Paypal still take its cut?

Omg, that sucks, they need to be abit more helpful yeah, rather than just waiting to milk the $
wah! like that also can? they should reimburse the full fund!
And you have now experienced the evilness that is PayPal 😛
Lots of nightmare stories on them…
Write back to PayPal and ask them to refund you the withdrawal fees.
@Harmony, Xin, Nicholas: Yeah it sucks.
@pablopabla: I’ve written a new e-mail for that regarding the withdrawal fees. They’ll refund, but no time frame given on that.
It is a scam at global scale. First PayPal kept our money locked and took interest from bank for that time frame Or may be they invested those funds in something to gain even more profit. Second They kept the withdrawal fee even when the transaction was not completed, Every day paypal handles over 2 million transactions, so if they kept fee for those transactions but couldn’t complete them, they have scammed a lot of money.
The way they are promising to pay back the fee but are not providing a time frame, I think they are currently low on cash.
I hope PayPal is not going to bankrupt soon, they need to enhance there customer support as well.
