While you can get a Nintendo Wii or a Sony Playstation from a Nintendo Counter or a Sony Center/Sony Style respectively, there’s no official distribution/sales channel for the Xbox 360 in Malaysia.
A clickabout landed me at a bunch of Microsoft sites dedicated to the Xbox 360 in Singapore (https://www.xbox.com/zh-SG/default.htm, https://www.xperts.com.sg/, https://xboxsingapore.com/). Wow, while our neighbours down south are basking in apparent Microsoft/360 love, what we Malaysians are stuck with?
Now, sing along to the tune of the Ghostbusters theme: “When RROD hits, your 360, who do you send it to? Microsoft Singapore!” Crud.
And it’s pretty ironic that Malaysia has an “Xbox Ambassador”, who, quoting the site, “have been around the block and are willing to show the new guys around”. Does he process the warranty claims as well?
Let’s see whether all this waving around would get Microsoft Malaysia’s attention. If the article in NST’s Tech&U didn’t, I don’t know what will.
