Two friends of mine asked, on two separate occasions, on how do I go about updating Nine Over Ten 9/10. The thing is, I don’t usually come up with articles straightaway. More often than not, I’ll start doing research after dinner, around 8.30 p.m.
Research usually involves playing video games and being not in the same mold as a hardcore gamer, I read a lot. I keep a wide range of reading material ranging from my favourites such as Retro Gamer, Time (which I subscribe to), an entire library of fiction and non-fiction books and graphic novels to websites such as news.com, wired.com, gonintendo.com, and a couple of others.
Part of research also involves trawling websites for bargains or anything interesting remotely related to video games. I sometimes get press releases sent from the PR people representing several video game publishers, and some of them require material to be downloaded, vetted and placed in Nine Over Ten.
The bulk of one night’s research usually goes to the creation of several posts. It’s no suprise to see three articles going up by 11.30 p.m., and one or two by 7.30 a.m. the next day. A particularly long night would see me hitting the sack instead at 3 in the morning.
Other than that, my day job keeps me from updating Nine Over Ten 9/10 in the afternoon, but I’m okay with that. So there you go, a little bit of insight on how Nine Over Ten 9/10 works.
